Energy prices were unchanged in October, following a 1.9% drop in September, according to data released by the U.S. Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics on November 13, 2024. Over the past year, they fell by 4.9%, following a previous decline of 6.8%.

The BLS surveys energy prices, including gasoline, electricity, fuel oil, and utility (piped) gas prices, in cities across the nation. These prices are averaged and published monthly as part of the bureau’s overall "energy" index.
